This is a voluntary leadership opportunity for 5th graders.
Mission: To provide 5th graders an opportunity to represent Lincoln Heights Environmental Connections Magnet Elementary School as leaders, promote our school wide GROW matrix, and create a welcoming school environment. Students are committed to lead by example, demonstrate respect and responsibility, and engage in service. Who is eligible: Responsible 4th graders that are nominated by teachers. They will complete their GROW Ambassador duties while in the 5th grade. Qualifications: A positive attitude and outlook at school, maintains good academic standards, good self-discipline, a willingness to help others, dependable and enjoys meeting and talking to new people. Application Process: Students are nominated by teachers in the Spring. If they are interested, the students and parents will complete the application and parent permission form. GROW Ambassadors will begin their duties in Fall of the following year. Meeting Times: Students will meet once a quarter to discuss upcoming events and missions. Students may meet to help out with special events. Duties Include: *Visit classrooms to promote LHECMES schoolwide expectations in our GROW Matrix *Greet and speak to current and prospective parents during Open House events *Give new students a treat and card to welcome them to LHECMES *Show leadership with school efforts and special events such as our recycling program, walk to school day, flag duty, etc. Please contact Mrs. Traylor ([email protected]) with any questions. |
